We’ve been reporting on the steady progress of Airborne Wireless Network (OTCMKTS:ABWN) since August of 2016.In our latest review dated May 15, 2017 the company was granted its experimental Federal Communication Commission (FCC) license to begin air-to-air and air-to-ground meshed network system evaluations. The Company has completed the necessary tests, and the results are very promising. Before we get into the details, a little background on the company for those not familiar with it.Airborne Wireless Network Inc. intends to create a high-speed broadband airborne wireless network by linking commercial aircraft in flight. Each aircraft participating in the network will act as an airborne repeater or router, sending and receiving broadband signals from one aircraft to the next and creating a digital superhighway in the sky.Airborne intends for the network to be a high-speed broadband internet pipeline to improve coverage connectivity. The Company does not intend to provide retail customer coverage to end users, but, instead, act as a wholesale carrier with target customers, such as internet service providers and telephone companies.Currently, the world's connectivity is achieved by use of undersea cables, ground based fiber and satellites. Airborne Wireless Network's airborne digital highway is the logical solution to fill the world's connectivity void. Once the network is developed and fully implemented, its uses are limitless.Airborne Wireless Network, once developed, should provide low cost, high speed connectivity to rural areas, island nations, ships at sea, oil platforms, in addition to connectivity to commercial and private aircraft in flight. ABWN’s Airborne Wireless Network is called Infinitus Super Highway. On Aug. 3, 2017 Airborne Wireless Network Inc. announced the release of the summary report of its proof of concept flight tests conducted on May 31st, 2017 in New Mexico. The test included the use of two Boeing 767s, and a temporary mobile mast system, emulating a ground station. The Airborne Radio Link Testing Report confirms that an Air-to-Air Network is feasible. Furthermore, the test system provided insight that will shape the development of the broadband commercial Air-to-Air system. The next stage will be to improve the hardware and software in order to begin implementing a strategy that should significantly increase data transfer speeds.Airborne Wireless Network 's Vice President of Business Development and Aviation Compliance, Jason de Mos, stated:

"The purpose of this test was to determine the feasibility of an air-to-air and air-to-ground network. With the feasibility now confirmed, we are moving forward in development."

Now that the technology concept is proven, Airborne Wireless Network Inc. announced on June 20, 2017 announce that it has entered into a software development agreement with Netherlands software developer and advanced communications pioneer Thinking Different Technologies. The Company anticipates that this relationship should significantly accelerate the development of its command, control, communication and coordination software modules of its Infinitus Super HighwayTM. Thinking Different Technologies, a Dutch engineering development company, will help advance Airborne Wireless Network’s comprehensive software development program, ranging from Radio Frequency meshed network control and associated ground connectivity to other contemplated transmission media, such as dedicated laser links in the future. On Aug. 3, 2017 Airborne Wireless Network Inc. announce that Marius de Mos, the Company's Vice President of Technical Affairs and Development, as an inventor, filed with the USTPO on July 25, 2017, for a new non-provisional patent application, number 15/658,761. The patent describes a "method of synchronizing laser-links between aircraft."The Company will be using this method as a roadmap to attempt to exponentially increase data transfer speeds for the Company's contemplated Infinitus Super Highway. Marius de Mos has agreed to assign the patent to the Company for a symbolic $1.The next step will be to begin mass production of the communication products. To that end, Airborne Wireless Network Inc. announced that on August 11, 2017 that it has entered into a design and manufacturing services agreement with ViaLight Communications, GmbH, a developer of laser based high-speed communication products. ViaLight has been engaged by the Company to develop, design, test and manufacture a custom hybrid synchronized laser based communication system to link neighboring aircraft and/or ground stations on Airborne Wireless Networks Infinitus Super Highway.

On October 9, 2017 ABWN stock made a sharp upward move from a low of $.72 to a high of $1.75 over a five-day period with higher than average volume. The stock has consolidated and is currently trading at $1.34. The Company is still in the development stage and therefore reports no revenues as of yet. Current market capitalization stands at $116.70 million, on 89.09 million shares outstanding as of October 18, 2017.Airborne Wireless Network Inc. is very methodically moving its technology towards practical application. The demand for the Company’s technology already exists. The company is now a few steps closer to getting its product to the end user and generating revenues.
