Bottled water statistics are absolutely mind blowing. Roughly one billion bottles of water are shipped each week across the United States. The U.S. is the world's largest consumer of bottled water. Americans spent more than $21 billion on bottled water last year. That's more than they spent on iPods or movie tickets. Matter of fact, Americans drink more bottled water than they do milk or beer. This wasn't always the case. It wasn't until 1977 when Perrier started an advertising campaign for its premium mineral water that started the bottled water craze. Back then, there were only 16 brands of bottled water. Then, soft drink giants Coca-Cola and Pepsi got into the bottled water business and started the marketing push that bottled water was better than tap water. An Executive Vice President at PepsiCo said in 2000:

"Our biggest enemy is tap water. When we're done, tap water will be relegated to irrigation and washing dishes."

The problem the industry faces now is twofold. First, a report by Food and Water Watch said that almost half of bottled water is derived from tap water. Pepsi's Aquafina and Nestle's Pure Life even had to change their labels and state that the water came from public sources. Furthermore, scientific tests later conducted came to the conclusion that "...there is no assurance that bottled water is any safer than tap water."The second major problem is the environmental impact from plastic bottles. The production of water bottles takes 17 million barrels of oil a year. Adding insult to injury is that it takes three times the water to make the bottle as it does to fill it. Furthermore, only about 12% of all bottled waters get recycled. The result is that the nation's landfills are being filled up with plastic bottles.Luckily for investors there is a company that is addressing these two crucial issues. That company is American Premium Water Corp (OTCMKTS:HIPH).American Premium Water Corp produces LALPINA WATER, which is sourced from a high-altitude aquifer deep in the Blue Ridge and the Blue Mountains. It is available in 7.3 and 9.5 pH, either natural spring or sparkling. LALPINA Natural high pH waters are filtered naturally over thousands of years, bottled on site in contamination-free glass containers.Geologists estimate that nature took 3,500 years to filter LALPINA 7.3 Natural High pH alkaline spring water, which is bottled at its source from a high-altitude aquifer 1,450 feet underground. The bottling process is the only commercial activity allowed in the surrounding 2,000-acre forest. There are monthly health department tests, annual tests by the National Sanitation Foundation and periodic independent tests to ensure the purity of LALPINA WATER.American Premium Water Corp makes sure it far exceeds the requirements of tap water, mechanically filtered water and most bottled water. The company then takes it a step further by using only glass bottles in the bottling process. This is because, as an inert substance, glass remains unchanged over time. It does not react with any substance. It is impermeable to contaminants and will not impart any flavor - ensuring the purity of LALPINA Natural High pH Waters.Another added benefit is that there are many health benefits to drinking high alkaline water like LALPINA. Alkaline water is water that’s less acidic than regular tap water. This means it is rich in alkalizing compounds, including calcium, silica, potassium, magnesium, and bicarbonate. Proponents of alkaline water believe that it can neutralize the acid in your bloodstream and help your body metabolize nutrients more effectively, leading to better health and performance. A 2012 study found that drinking alkaline water with a pH of 8.8 can help deactivate pepsin, which is the main enzyme that causes acid reflux. Another study suggested that drinking alkaline water may have benefits for people who suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol. For consumers that choose to drink alkaline water, there's no better choice than LALPINA WATER. LALPINA WATER has the highest pH reading among its competitors at 9.5 on the pH scale. Compare this to premium brands VOSS at 7.6, Icelandic at 8.4, Evian at 7.9, Fiji at 7.3, and Nestle Pure Life at 7.3 on the pH scale.Because of its high pH, LALPINA WATER has become the brand of choice for many celebrities. Images online show fans of the water include Wayne Newton, Flo Rida, Kendra Wilkinson, Lance Bass, Lil' Jon, William H Macy, JR Smith of NBA Champs Cleveland Cavaliers, Nick Cannon, Joe Manganiello, Kellan Lutz, Mario Lopez, Christina Milian and was even featured in a Nascar event. Former supermodel Elle McPherson was quoted in this Vogue Magazine article as saying "Try to keep your system alkaline. L'Alpina does a great alkaline water".Currently trading with a market cap of just $1.5 million, HIPH is an exciting story on the OTC Markets.
