Atacama Resources International Inc (OTCMKTS:ACRL), the holding company, saw a big increase in volume towards the end of July 2017. The interesting fact is that the company did not release anything that could explain it, yet the increase in trading volume occurred right after the share price declined. Are market participants buying the dip? In this piece, we will assess the company's previous announcements in an effort to understand what is going on. Have a look at the recent share price action before we give you the details.SourceA Diversified Business StructureAtacama Resources International, Inc. was founded in Florida in June 2013. It operates in two very different sectors. The company was initially created as a consultant to the mining industry. It owns mining interests in the Kirkland Lake (forty two claims in a 1680 acre mine) in Ontario, Canada. In 2015, the management decided to increase the company's growth and commenced to acquire tech businesses. The acquisition of Good2Drive, Inc. is a clear example of this new strategy. This subsidiary develops and owns a smartphone App called Good2Drive for both Apple and Android smartphones. What's exactly the App? It consists of a 30-45 second test "developed by a Stanford professor that measures alertness in terms of short term memory and reaction time and notifies the responsible party that the user has taken the test, and whether he/she fails or passes". Who is the target client? "The product is developed to help young drivers and parents working together to make driving the family vehicles much safer and commercial drivers and employers working together to make the nation’s highways safer for all drivers." The following video shows the features of the App:https://youtu.be/e-3vEne8YJ8SourceRecent DevelopmentsOn June 20, 2017, Atacama Resources International (OTCQB: ACRL) named MGIS Inc. as the Program Manager for the Good2Drive mobile application product line. The market reacted positively to the news, as the share price increased the following day. Why was this company elected? The press release reads that MGIS Inc.'s team participated in the development of the Good2Drive mobile application, thus it will be the best partner to further develop the application and make the promotion. Dan Finch, President of Good2Drive, quoted:

"MGIS has proven to provide the highest level of professional services over the years, and we are pleased to announce our partnership. With MGIS managing new product development as well as enhancements to Good2Drive, we know that our evolving product suite will continue to be world class. We already have new products in development that all use MGIS' Geospatial infrastructure and work with both Apple and Android smartphones. All our products contribute to enhanced safety for both students and adults as well as seniors in potentially dangerous environments." Source

On April 27, 2017, it was put out that the company released its Good2Drive mobile application. Some interesting information was put out in the press release. We got to know that the App is based on "the scientific study of cognitive abilities at various West Coast hospitals and universities" and it uses a patented algorithm. Dan Finch, President of Good2Drive, explained:

"We are very excited about the release of Good2Drive at Google Play and the iTunes store. We anticipate this mobile application being used not only by families and individuals to promote safer driving habits but also by corporate fleets and law enforcement agencies to combat dangerous driving. While drinking and driving is still a major concern, and one that Good2Drive is designed to monitor, the impairment to drivers caused by drugs, both prescription and illicit, along with drowsy driving is emerging as a major factor in traffic crashes in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. Good2Drive's patented algorithm and test have been proven to accurately identify cognitive impairment, regardless of the source, whether it is drinking, drugs or drowsiness. Good2Drive's test is suitable for testing young teenage drivers, adult drivers, senior citizens and drivers of commercial vehicles." Source

Additionally, we got to know that a free trial version was available on both iOS and Android devices. After this promotion, the cost would be $0.99 a month for individuals and $1.99 a month for families.ConclusionACRL is making a lot of interesting good moves so far this year. The release of the App shows that the company is growing. If that growth is transformed into revenues and positive net income in the near future, the share price may creep up. We need to be alert to assess the next quarterly earnings, wherein the revenues from the App will be reported. It is a major catalyst in the stock. Additionally, we cannot forget the interests in the mines in Canada. The company has not released anything for a while regarding those interests. It may surprise us soon.
