Kraig Biocraft Laboratories Inc (OTCMKTS: KBLB) has been a stock that we have talked about here at Insider Financial since July 14, 2016. At the time, we knew the company had potential, but we took a wait and see attitude. Fast forward a few months and in October of 2016, we became hardcore fans of KBLB and have been recommending the stock ever since. Since then, our subscribers have gone on to bank big profits in KBLB. Luckily, we don't think this bull run is over. Matter of fact, we believe a new bull run is about to get started in KBLB. KBLB Weekly ChartKBLB BackgroundFirst up, here's a little background info for those of you that aren't familiar with KBLB. Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc, a reporting biotechnology company, is the leading developer of genetically engineered spider silk based fiber technologies. The Company has achieved a series of scientific breakthroughs in the area of spider silk technology with implications for the global textile industry.Factory ProgressSince our last update in May, a lot has happened with KBLB. The company has taken possession of its factory in Vietnam. The Company is now retrofitting the nearly 50,000 square foot facility to produce its game-changing recombinant spider silk materials. Remodeling efforts are expected to be minimal and completed quickly. This facility was selected based on its optimal layout and existing infrastructure. COO Jon Rice said:

“Our people on the ground in Vietnam are wasting no time getting this facility into operation. We have outlined a very aggressive timeline for bringing the factory online and we are monitoring progress daily. We are very pleased to see how quickly things are moving and look forward to completing the transition. We expect to make delivery of the first production batch of our recombinant spider silk thread from this factory to one of our strategic market channel partners in the third or fourth quarter.”

5 More Patent ApplicationsKBLB has submitted five new provisional patent applications, for technologies related to its recombinant spider silk technologies. These applications cover a broad range of technologies in the creation, screening, and production of new recombinant proteins. These new applications expand beyond the Company’s publicly disclosed silkworm and silk technologies, to include advanced construction systems, methods, and non-native proteins.Silk Production BreakthroughAt the end of May, KBLB achieved the material science breakthrough that the Company has been pushing for since establishing the Dragon Silk line; this new transgenic was specifically engineered for high strength and significantly higher protein expression levels. This achievement marked a significant milestone in Kraig Labs’ mission to produce and commercialize eco-friendly materials that exceed the performance and strength of native spider silk. COO Jon Rice said:

“This breakthrough has powerful ramifications that affect the core of how we develop future spider silk materials. These newly confirmed transgenics mark a revolutionary advancement in the capability of our spider silk materials. The new tools developed by Dr. Trevor Kane and our research team will allow us to target commercial markets that were not originally on our radar.”

Upcoming Annual MeetingUsually, annual meetings are mundane affairs. However, we think KBLB is priming a big announcement to come around the July 24th meeting date. A clue from the press release said, "The shareholder meeting is an important step in positioning the Company to advance its business model, including the growth of its spider silk manufacturing operations." We will be at the annual meeting and will update our subscribers accordingly. Good luck to all!Disclosure: We have no position in KBLB and have not been compensated for this article.Photo by Bruno Scramgnon from Pexels
