Insider Financial recaps last week's stock market action and covers the economic reports to watch this week.

This video covers stocks such as SPY, QQQ, DIA, IWM, TLT, ORCL, WOOF, GME, SMMT, RDDT, CRM, NVDA, AMD, EA, FDX, and MCVT.

Video Summary

From our last video, we covered a number of winners for subscribers. As I do each and every Sunday, I run down what happened in the previous week and I outline what’s on the agenda for the coming week.

Oracle had a great earnings report. AI revenues growing.

WOOF also delivered on earnings.

GME disappointed. Needs a catalyst. Roaring Kitty memes are not going to cut it. Ryan Cohen needs to deliver and show revenue growth and profits.

SMMT was the biggest runner last week and like I said was covered in Monday night’s video. +160% for the week.

Congrats to all who watched and banked.

For this week, not much on Monday.

Tuesday IPO lockup expires on RDDT. Salesforce (CRM) will hold its Dreamforce 2024 event. EA will hold its first investor day since 2016. Retail sales at 8:30.

Wednesday FOMC statement at 2pm and Jay Powell press conference at 2:30. I think we get 25 bp cut. 50 bp cut would spook the market in my opinion. What does the Fed know that we don’t? Are things worse than they appear?

Thursday August home sales and FedEx earnings.

Friday triple-witching.

Lastly, a lot of chatter this weekend on Stocktwits about MCVT. Float is just 1.8m shares, according to Finviz. Closed up almost 10% higher on Friday and up another 5% after hours. Keep your eye on this play for Monday. A lot of smart money that we follow here on Insider Financial are talking about MCVT, like Stocksrockman.

I will also be scanning the pre-market, as I do each trading day. If I see anything else, I will let subscribers know. That’s why signing up is so important, and it’s completely free.

Bottom Line

As we keep saying, there are always opportunities in the markets, and it’s our job to find winning stocks to trade. Huge gains can be made in such a short amount of time.

It’s essential to look for stocks that have yet to run. There are plenty of opportunities, and we look at hundreds of stocks weekly for our subscribers.

Remember, all it takes is one or two to become a winner, and you’ve crushed the market indices (and Jim Cramer) for the year.

Good luck to all (except the shorts and Cramer)!
