Ibio Inc (NYSEMKT:IBIO) the biotechnology company confirmed that its U.S. iBioLaunch platform patents and related proprietary technology are applicable to further development and production of antibodies that target the Ebola virus, and said it has offered to assist the U.S. government by making its technology available for emergency use. Making the technology available for emergency use would "enable the manufacture and yield optimization of certain experimental antibody-based drugs that address the current Ebola virus outbreak, to the extent such assistance is requested by the government," Ibio Inc (NYSEMKT:IBIO) said.The confirmation comes a day after the diagnosis of the Ebola virus in a second U.S. health-care worker, escalating worries that the virus could spread further in the U.S. IBIO is trading in a 52-week range of $0.24 to $2.73. Also, iBio noted it has an ongoing relationship with Caliber Biotherapeutics under which the companies have been collaborating on commercial opportunities for recombinant antibodies and antibody-related proteins based on the speed, efficiency, and cost advantages of producing pharmaceutical proteins in plants instead of with bioreactor-based manufacturing methods. "Based on published scientific data, the superior homogeneity of antibody glysolylation (the addition of sugars to proteins) in plants can provide significant efficacy advantages over similar antibodies produced in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells," it said.Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corp (NYSE:VAC) reported better than expected Q3 earnings, but missed revenue estimates by $8 million. Both, however, were higher than the same period of 2013. For Q3 of 2014, VAC reported net income of $27.0 million, or $0.81 per share, beating Capital IQ estimates by $0.01. For the same quarter last year, Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corp (NYSE:VAC) reported net income of $27.0 million, or $0.72 per share. Total sales for Q3 were $413 million, below the consensus estimate of $421 million, but up slightly from $412 million for Q3 2014.For FY 2014, VAC forecasts earnings $2.67 to $2.84 per share, up from its initial guidance of $2.64 to $2.82 versus the Cap IQ estimate of $2.77 per share. The company also initiated a quarterly dividend of $0.25 per share and authorized the repurchase of an additional 3.4 million shares under the company's share repurchase program. Shares of VAC closed on Thursday at $59.07 with a 52-week range of $46.62 to $64.05.Specialty retail company Urban Outfitters, Inc. (NASDAQ:URBN) was downgraded Thursday by analysts at Macquarie to a neutral rating from outperform. The firm also lowered its price target on the stock to $39 from $43 a share. Shares of Urban Outfitters, Inc. (NASDAQ:URBN) are moving within a 52-week trading range of $32.23 to $40.67.
